Alexis Cohen, American Idol Contestant Found Dead (Alexis Cohen Tribute)
American Idol auditioner Alexis Cohen died at age 25 on July 25 after being struck by a car in Seaside Heights, N.J., the Associated Press reports. Cohen's colorful behavior in early episodes of Idol's seventh and eighth seasons, including repeated rude gestures directed at the judges, made her a memorable presence. Authorities are seeking further information about the fatal collision.Cohen was found lying outside around 4 a.m. by two passersby who called 911, Deputy Chief Michael Mohel said. She was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, N.J., where she was pronounced dead around 6:35 a.m.
An autopsy is being conducted today, and police are investigating Cohen’s death. Mohel declined to say how police believe she died.
